The 4 Cs of marketing for successful brands

There are many tips and tricks to making your marketing work, but if you’re feeling overwhelmed with trying to use all of them in your campaigns it might be time to pare it down to four key elements of marketing.

These four elements of marketing can help focus your campaigns and keep your customers engaged with your content.

When I need to go back to the basics, these are the four Cs of marketing that I focus on:

  • Choice
  • Customers
  • Community
  • Consistency

Let’s do a deep dive on these four bullet points to see how they drive success for brands.

Choice

Analysis paralysis can be a huge hurdle at the end of the finish line when it comes to turning leads into customers. One easy way to help your customers is to essentially limit their choices.

Make it as simple as possible to understand the core differences and benefits between your products or services so your customers feel confident in making the right choice for them.

Not only should they know what product is right for them at the end of the journey, it should be straightforward what content path or journey they should take as they learn more about your brand. Help them to their choice by creating segmented marketing journeys and sending them relevant content.

Customers

Your customers’ need to be at the center of everything you put out. What do they need from your campaigns? What information matters to them?

Always keep them in mind as you create marketing campaigns and assets and understand the goal of everything you’re creating so your customers will have a clear direction to take.

When in doubt, KISS – Keep It Simple, Stupid; but don’t insult your customers.

Community

We’re social creatures and we like finding our communities that we can engage with and thrive in – so why not create a community around your brand? Whether that’s on social media, an online forum, or perhaps a networking element to webinar presentations, give your customers an opportunity to meet others that also like your brand.

Consistency

Finally, keep your marketing consistent. From your logo, brand colors, and wording, everything should have a similar look and feel to it. You never want your customers doubting if your brand actually created the content or wondering if your brand had an identity crisis.

Am I missing a key element of marketing? Maybe another one that starts with a C to match my last point? Sound off in the comments below!
